That’s how we feel about the welcome and the interesting development of the work day celebrated on December 10, when we presented the LIFE Bonelli project. There was a high number of participants and speakers. The workshop allowed the dissemination of the project, once more, as well as some of the objectives achieved such as the first natural reproduction in Mallorca, where this specie disappeared decades ago. This historic event has occurred after the quick coupling, whose consorts depicting in their biologic history the philosophy and characteristics of this project.

Knowing the breeding areas in the centre of the peninsula is of vital importance for the correct development of the LIFE Bonelli project. Hence, we have marked 3 specimens with GPS transmitters in 2014.

Last Sunday, Carlota Viada, a member the LIFE Bonelli team in Mallorca, presented the project and the first results at the XXII Spanish Ornithology Congress.

On November 25, we opened the acclimatation facilities so Dílar can be free again in Mallorca, after a year and a half rehabilitating at the Recovery Center “El Blanqueo” in Granada, which belongs to the Junta de Andalucía, that handed over this specimen to LIFE Bonelli.

It’s time ago that we’ve been having signs that one of the individuals of the couple dwelling El Pardo, was marked. We hoped that it was one of those liberated within LIFE Bonelli, but it is not. Thanks to the fact that this type of rings are only being used by the team of Joan Real (University of Barcelona) we now know that it comes from Catalonia. We hope to be able to read the code shortly and get to know the nest where it comes from.
